Why we do what we do? 

Research conducted by the University of Texas in Dallas (2017) showed that patients who were discharged from the hospital too early are more likely to return to the hospital prematurely due to complications. In addition, patients that remained in the hospital for too long run the risk of complications due to hospital acquired infections and physical debilitation (Jeong-ha Cath Oh et al, 2017).  Either way patients are being discharged from the hospital weaker and in need of personal assistance at home, to aid in the recuperation process and help them achieve optimal health.
